With my court team we developed programs and resources to help even those far behind to graduate, often on time with their peers. School districts choose which court to file cases. They filed as many as 1000 a year with me. Last year they only filed 125 in JP7.
2. Courtesy and respect is paramount. Regardless of who they are, why they are in court or what they look like, everyone in my courtroom is treated properly. Many attorneys, landlords and others have told me they wish for the days when I was on the bench.
3. My role is to know and apply the law, not just what I feel like doing. I am the nerd that reads the law to know exactly what the legislature passed. My reputation as a knowledgeable and fair judge earned me an opportunity to be a volunteer faculty member for the state agency that trains judges and clerks across the state.
